But for some users, the setting will be cumbersome (in Windows), and it is not so convenient to use directly, so we will not recommend all users to try it." Their driver installation guide says nothing, however, about driver settings or use! In his review of the D50s Amir said, "All the testing was with Windows 10 USB UAC2 class driver (i.e. On the other hand Topping tech support has told me, after several rounds of Q&A, "ASIO provide very good performance. Is it recommended/necessary to install the proprietary driver to get the best sound over the widest range of bit depths and sampling rates that the Topping DACs can provide? I ask because the Cambridge Audio literature on their DACMagic Plus ( much more communicative than Topping's) is telling me that the Windows native USB driver is bad news and that I need an ASIO driver to get best performance. Maybe somebody can explain this stuff to me: I'm reasonably experienced with Windows PC's and, I think, capable of installing a driver as needed, but prying information out of Topping's tech support is like pulling hens' teeth. I have no idea what driver needs to be installed to get USB out to the ayre.I've searched here on USB drivers but haven't found anything yet that I can understand. I'm assuming that means it has some issue and some driver is not instlaled properly. I also notice in my device manager that under other devices I see Ayre AcousticsDFU show up with a yellow exclamation point. I want to use the USB out to the USB in on the ayre qb-9. That is the only selection that I think will work since all of the other selections are say soundblaster and i'm not using my soundblaster card to play the audio files. I set my settings panel to ASIO: TUSBAudio ASIO Driver. I constantly see "Could no start playback: DAC start failed - Please try setting Bitstream to 24 or 32 is settings panel" I have tried that and no dice. There was some major update in windows 10 a couple of weeks ago now it seems I can play audio files via regular audio programs like VLC player to my ayre dac but not through the jplay mini program. I could never install the tusbaudio driver in windows 10. I've been trying to get jplay and my ayre qb-9 dac to work for approximately a year and a half. I also have to force bitstream to 32 bit. I thought Kernel streaming was the best sound? I don't find an option for KS. I can now play with WASAPi: 2-Ayre USB interface. I may have solved this by plugging my USB cable into another USB port on my computer.
